Terry Wayne Pruitt

Terry Wayne Pruitt, 71, of Nederland passed away October 19, 2019. He was born in Beaumont on May 4, 1948 to the late Edward Edgar Pruitt and Frances Marie French Pruitt. He served his country proudly in the U. S. Army. Wayne worked for IPS for 45 years and was a member of First Baptist Church in Nederland. Wayne was a huge Mustang car collector. He was always helping others in need. He was a member of the Nederland Masonic Lodge and served treasurer of IBEW 2286 for 30 years. We would like to thank Mathew Lambeth and Bridgette Goetsell for their caregiving during Wayne’s hard times.
Those left to cherish Wayne’s memory are his wife, Gwendolyn Pruitt; his daughter, Lisa Pruitt of Seattle, WA; his sons, James Pruitt of Nederland and William Pruitt of Nederland; his grandchildren, Emily Pruitt, Harlie Pruitt, Eli Pruitt, Isabella Pruitt, and Addylin Tribble; his sisters, Elaine Laird of the Philippines and Cecile Will of Cocoa, FL; and his brother, Carol Pruitt of Nederland. He is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Gary Pruitt; and his brother, Eugene Pruitt.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home on Thursday, October 24, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at First Baptist Church in Nederland on Friday, October 25, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Jason Burden officiant. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont.
