I just learned of Mr. Woodall's passing. I'm so very sorry for the loss of such a Godly man. Mrs. Woodall, God used you and Terry to mold the hearts of many people. Connie, I am so sorry for your loss. Terry sounds like a wonderful man. He is going to be missed dearly. But what a legacy he leaves behind. May all your memories sustain you and your family. He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the almighty. I will say to the Lord, "My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust. Psalm 91:1-2

I'm so sorry to hear of Mr. Woodall's passing. I met him when he had barely gotten his teaching degree and was substitute teaching at Mac Arthur Middle School in Beaumont. I was one of the students in that class. Even then he told me some things about being my own person and being able to make choices when I got older. It meant a lot to me at the time obviously because I still remember him. Rest in Peace Mr. Woodall.

Dear Woodall Family, mine is one of hundred or more messages written to bring you some comfort and peace. Not one is any more or any less important, but it is each our own unique perspective of Terry's impact on our lives. As you read through the comments It is obvious how many lives were touched by Terry in countless ways. Most people are trying to find their purpose and wanting their lives to count or matter in some way. It is inspiring to me that just by being himself every day, Terry did that very thing. Any time we lose a loved one, the family is the one who misses them the most, and I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that is true in this case.Terry was a dedicated, godly husband and father, which shone through in all of our conversations, because whatever subject we started with, we always ended with family. Let his legacy live on through you, and take comfort; He went to heaven with a heart full of love for you and knowing how much he was loved by you!

Connie & Family, I don't usually make comments in Guestbooks, but Terry was so special and always smiling. I've known him for a long time while I taught choir in Beaumont and through my ten years of retirement. I would always call him after I retired asking him to keep me on the judges list. He would always thank me for volunteering and made me feel valued and needed. I'm definitely in shock and feel much sadness. A wonderful man has left us. I will pray for the repose of his soul, and I will pray for all of you. God be with you.

Connie, My heart is broken for your loss - and my words are inadequate. You and Terry meant so much to me while I was in Port Neches/Port Arthur. And, I was so very happy that we were able to connect at special get-togethers throughout the years. Please know you have and will be in my prayers. In His Love, Nan

Dear Connie, I was so stunned and sad to learn of Terry's passing. He was so musically talented ---I just recently enjoyed Southside's posting of him playing the piano on their FB page --it was so beautiful--I'm certain he is singing or playing the piano in the Heavenly choir now. I will miss visiting with him at the mailbox. I'm happy to be your neighbor---just come down to visit or call if you ever want to just talk or need anything.."The Lord will be your strength and your song!"...Psalm 118:14

Dear Connie and family, i came across Terry's obituary from my daughter through her aunt...so sorry for your loss. I loved Terry and the wonderful relationship we enjoyed with him and you so many years ago at Central Gardens Baptist, Nederland. . Oddly, I had thought of him what must have been only a few days before his death. I feel certain now that it was a prayer. God be with you all. May Terry rest in Peace and rise in Glory!

In 1982-1983, Mr. Woodall was my music and social studies teacher at Groves Junior High/Woodlawn. The two things that I remember about him: (1) he had tons of patience for rowdy sixth grade students...he never raised his voice or went ballistic on his students; and, (2) he loved teaching us about music and singing. Thank you Mr. Woodall for investing your time and talents in the students at PN-GISD. RIP.

The Hawkins family is so sorry for your loss. Another great man taken from this Earth too soon. He will forever be remembered in our hearts as a wonderful man, a fantastic teacher, and a talented musician. I was blessed to have known him for many years as Bailey's dad from dance, and then got to watch him as he was a teacher to my own child for the past 5 years. Every single time I was in the choir room helping out, he was laughing and joking with the kids and always could put a smile on my daughter Isabelle's face. Emersyn always loved to tell me stories about her grandpa at dance and I loved watching her face light up when she talked about him. He was and always will be a special man! Our family is praying for all of you. Love Miss Kim and Isabelle Hawkins

We were shocked and saddened to hear about Terry's passing away yesterday evening. Connie, our hearts hurt for you and your beautiful daughters, son in laws and grandchildren. My father LA Richardson also wanted you to know that he is also praying for you and your family as you mourn his Earthly loss. Terry was truly a beloved long time friend from our youth and we always cherish the good times we shared with you both at Fourth Avenue Baptist church. We know the Lord said , "Well done thou good and faithful servant", as Terry was welcomed into heaven yesterday. We will one day see Terry n heaven but we will always miss his presence here on Earth.

I had the honor to be blessed at two different time periods in my life by Mr. Woodall's heart and compassion. From having him as my minister of music in Port Neches when I was a little girl, to my moving to Silsbee and having him join the school district as my high school choir director years later, his sweet spirit and dedication has meant a lot to me. My heart breaks for his family. Praying for you all during this time!

Terry, my heart hurts. You will always be known as "the Music Man" to us in the Silsbee community. I so enjoyed our time teaching together, you always made the days go by with laughter and a true concern for your students; a genuine and truly gifted person. I will so miss you my friend, even though we have not been in contact for some time. Emily and I would talk of you often, especially about needing to get that banana pudding on Thursdays and taking it to you since you moved back to your home area. Connie and the girls, may you be wrapped in the arms of our loving Savior as you walk these trying times. Bill & Emily

Connie, my heart and prayers go out to you and your family. I knew Terry and his family from Fourth Avenue Baptist Church in Port Arthur, and always thought highly of his parents as the strong Christian people they were. I remember Terry bringing this pretty girl to church with him, and next thing we knew, y'all were married! My heart grieves for you; my prayer is that God surrounds you with His comforting presence in the days and weeks ahead.

I never saw Mr. Woodall without a smile on his face and he genuinely cared for others. He was my first choir director and he introduced me to choral music. He played for me each time I performed for solo and ensemble. As a young girl I lacked the confidence I needed to sing in front of others. He encouraged me to reach for the stars and helped me gain that confidence I needed to try out for Indian singers and All-Region Choir. If I hadn't had teachers like him I would not have reached my full potential and go on to sing in churches around the world. I praise God that He put Mr. Woodall in my life and that he gave me the courage to get out there and do what I loved even when I didn't think I could. He will be greatly missed. Praying for all of you and I'm so sorry for your great loss.

Mr. Woodall was a teacher that I will never forget. He was there along with Mrs. Myers and Mrs. Kloes during my choral career starting from middle school all the way to my freshman year of high school before I moved away. He was an amazing accompanist and choir director who put up with our constant immature behaviors as young kids and wanted us to be the best we can be both as singers and as people. He will be missed by every person whose lives had been touched by him. My prayers be with his family and close friends.

I know that losing Terry is devastating. Yet through your pain, there is joy and satisfaction in affirmation of where he is spending eternity. Connie, I remember as if it were just yesterday, when you and Terry first began to date. You would come join all of us Lamar Music Department vocal nerds and hang out, then when we became choral directors, Terry would bring you to TMEA and TCDA so you could get in some r&r and retail therapy. Then we had our regular visits to Schilos for lunch and catch up time always the first full day of convention. So many wonderful memories. Terry was such a pleasure to be around: in fact, my last good visit with him was March 5, at UIL Contest. We had the opportunity for just the two of us to talk about our families and life in general which I always looked forward to. Just very thankful for those moments. The next day, I realized I had left my favorite coffee mug at the contest, called him to tell him, and he put it aside for me to come pick up. Unfortunately, ALL of our lives changed just a few "daze" later, and I didn't have the opportunity to get it. I suppose I am rambling and am too long winded for this format, but I just have so many fond memories of our times together. Terry is just so special to countless folks, and he will always be a special part of their lives including mine. God Bless you and your precious family.

I was in Mr. Woodall's choir class in 2004. I found it to be extraodinary that he played the piano for every one of his student soloist at competition. The song I chose was complicated and he stated he hated playing anything by that composer. He never told me to change the song and he played it anyway. When I totally messed up my solo at competition, he was nothing but kind and encouraging. He was one my favorite teachers and I have never forgotten his kindness.
