The Honorable Judge Leonard James Giblin, Jr., 80, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont.
He was born in Port Arthur, Texas on January 13, 1941 to Leonard James Giblin, Sr. and Laudy Bodin Giblin.
Leonard was a lifelong area resident and member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches.
Leonard began his career in the Jefferson County District Attorney's Office. He later was 1st Assistant District Attorney. He successfully ran for Jefferson County Judge and ended his career spending 25 years as a State District Criminal Judge of the 252nd Court.
A visitation for family and friends will begin at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches. A Memorial Mass will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the church with Reverend Jim McClintock and Reverend J.C. Coon officiating.
Leonard is survived by his wife of 58 years, Diane Giblin of Port Arthur, Texas, daughters, Gina Giblin of Dallas, Texas and Julie Gauthier and husband Blake of Port Neches, Texas, son, Dr. Leonard Giblin, III of Galveston, Texas, grandchildren, Jake Gauthier and Claire Gauthier and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Maxine Dengler.
