Thomas Randall Stelly, affectionately known as Randy, was born on August 15, 1952, in New Orleans, Louisiana. He departed this life peacefully on October 2, 2024, in Beaumont, Texas, leaving behind a legacy filled with love, kindness, and unwavering faith.
Randy dedicated 15 years of his career to the City Nederland as a Meter Reader, and was proud to retire from public service. His contributions to the community reflected his caring nature and commitment to those he served. A proud veteran, Randy also honorably served in the United States Air Force, a testament to his character and dedication to his country.
A faithful member of Faith Baptist Temple, Randy found great joy and purpose in his spiritual community. Those who knew him would often describe him as laid back, possessing a calming demeanor that made others feel at ease. He never met a stranger; his warm personality and love for conversation drew people to him like a magnet. Randy’s love for dancing was well-known, bringing joy not only to him but also to everyone who had the pleasure of witnessing his joyful spirit.
Randy's proudest accomplishments included being very involved in politics, where he had the honor of attending several Republican National Conventions—an experience that brought him immense pride.
He leaves behind a devoted family, including his beloved wife, Cheryl Stelly of Nederland; his cherished daughter, Stacey Spurlock; and his sons, Dallas Stelly and wife Catrina, and Randall "Clint" Stelly, and step-son, Benjie Pinell. Randy was a loving brother to his sisters, Paula Bouget and Linda Wheeler, and her husband Bob. His family also includes his adoring grandchildren: Dezareae Abair, Rubin Soto, Micah Soto, Breann Arrant, Brian Arrant, Nathan Stelly, Brittany Stelly, and Kyleigh Pinell, along with seven great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Lucille Stelly, and his sister, Lucy Beard. His absence will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held on October 8, 2024, starting at 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM, at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home, 1605 Avenue H, Nederland, Texas 77627. As we gather to celebrate the life of Thomas Randall Stelly, we remember a man whose warmth, generosity, and love for his family and community will forever remain in our hearts.
