Tillman Stanmore Sikes

Tillman Stanmore Sikes, 83, of Wildwood, Texas passed away on November 18, 2012 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont, Texas. He was born on September 1, 1929 in Port Arthur, Texas to the late Henry Frank and Alta McDaniel Sikes. He served his country proudly in the U. S. Army in the early 50s. Tillman retired from IBM in 1988 and then retired from Kodak in 1996. He moved to Wildwood to live his retirement years. He was an active member of the Enterprise Blvd. Church of Christ in Lake Charles, LA for 28 years and most recently the Church of Christ in Kountze, TX. Having served as a deacon with Enterprise Blvd. Church of Christ, he was active with working with the boy scouts and enjoyed photography, working with computers and loved gadgets.Funeral services will be held at Melancons Funeral Home in Nederland on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at 11:00 a.m., Mr. Heath Stapleton officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, November 20th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.Tillman is survived by his wife, Nancy Parrish Sikes of Wildwood children, Joyce Dalzell and husband Dave of Abilene, Theresa Morrow of Alamogordo, NM, John Sikes of Iowa, LA, Hal Monroe of Nederland, Charles Monroe of Winnie, Mark Monroe of Beaumont, Nancy Hatton and husband, David of Spurger, and James Hooker and wife, Kim of Houston sister, Gene Harbert of Port Neches 16 grandchildren and 13 greatgrandchildren. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Higgs Sikes.Memorials may be given to the Alzheimers Association or FaithWorks of Abilene, 1229 N. Mockingbird, Abilene, TX 79603.

I am sorry to learn of the passing of a gentleman.I was Mr. Sikes mailman for a number of years in Lake Charles, and remember he was one of the first to use computerprinted checks and envelopes that I picked up in his outgoing mail My thoughts are with you all at this time.David Cary
