Timothy Scott Clopton, known to many as Scott, passed away on February 28, 2024, at Houston Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas. He was born on November 6, 1955, in Sonora, Texas.
Scott dedicated twenty-one years of his life to working for Total as a Process Operator, showcasing his strong work ethic and commitment of his career. Beyond his professional life, Scott found joy in various hobbies and interests such as gardening, fishing, working outdoors, and nurturing his fondness for plants. His warm heart extended even to his beloved dogs, whom he cherished dearly. One of Scott's proudest accomplishments was his skill and passion for woodworking projects - a testament to his creativity and craftsmanship. As we bid farewell to Scott in physical form but not in spirit or memory, may we find solace in the love he shared, the legacy he leaves behind, and the knowledge that we will see him again in Heaven one day.
In the embrace of grief, Scott was surrounded by memories of his lovingly departed parents. He is survived by a family who will continue to hold him dear in their hearts. His wife of thirty years, Carla Clopton of Groves, TX; son Timothy Clopton and daughter-in-law Sarah from Port Neches, TX; daughter Elaine Clopton East of Port Neches, TX; grandchildren Beckham, Oakley, Callum East, and Ezra Baisdon; brothers Paul Clopton from Lafayette, LA; Mark Clopton and sister-in-law Amy from Austin, TX; sisters Debbie Gil and brother-in-law Mike of Groves, TX; Joanna Clopton from Groves, TX; mother-in-law Gail Van Arsdale from Port Arthur, TX; brother-in-law Brian Van Arsdale and sister-in-law Penny from Mauriceville, TX; sister-in-law Kim Washburn and brother-in-law Wade from Nederland, TX were all touched by Scott's presence in unique ways. Not forgetting his loyal canine companions - Molly, Toby, and Bo - who brought him immense joy over the years. Additionally, Scott leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who will carry forward memories of an uncle who held them dear.
Services to honor and remember Scott's life will be held at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home in Groves for visitation on March 6th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 7th at 10:00 a.m. at Val Verde Baptist Church in Groves. Officiating will be Pastor Nick Dignan. Burial will be held at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
