T.J. was an incredible mentor to me while I was a student at Wake Forest University and working part time as a copy editor at the Winston-Salem Journal. My deepest condolences to his family and friends.

I'm so sorry to hear of TJ's passing. I worked with him on the copydesk at the Journal. He was one of a kind and a genuinely nice guy. He will be missed.

T.J. and I worked together at the Winston-Salem Journal. He was a great deskmate (and taught me how to change a tire in the back parking lot). I'm sad to hear of his death. He was always quick with a joke and to lend a hand (or go get dinner for the desk). You are in my thoughts.

Many of us at the Winston-Salem Journal have good memories of T.J. when he worked on the copy desk. I'm sorry to hear that he has passed but I am glad he was in Texas near his brothers.

T.J. will not be forgotten by anyone who worked with him, and the memories are all good ones.

I'll never forget the endless hours TJ and I spent shooting pool, throwing darts and chewing the fat over a hot cup of coffee. The many hours we worked together on projects of all kinds at The News will never fade in my memory.
