Tom Duplantis

Tom Duplantis, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away on February 20, 2026, in Port Arthur, Texas, at the age of 84. Born on November 1, 1941, in Port Arthur, Tom lived a life marked by dedication, service, and a profound love for his family.

A proud veteran, Tom served in the United States Air Force for 8 years during the Vietnam War and in Korea. His military service laid a foundation of discipline and commitment that he carried into his civilian life. After returning from service, Tom enjoyed a successful career as a Process Operator at several refineries including several years overseas. Throughout his career, he demonstrated a strong work ethic and a passion for his profession.

Tom was a parishioner of Immaculate Conception St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, where he found community and solace. His faith was an integral part of his life and he shared it generously with those around him.

He had a zest for life that extended into his hobbies and interests. Tom found joy in riding motorcycles and working on cars, activities that allowed him to express his passion for mechanics and adventure. His love of travel was another significant aspect of his life.

Tom is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Helen Duplantis; daughter, Lisa Conrad and her husband, Tim; and son, Brian Duplantis and his wife, Amy. He took great pride in his grandchildren, which include Lauren Cherry and her husband, Lane; Jacob Duplantis and his wife, Alexandra; and Bailey Mitchell and her husband, Caleb. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren, Missy Cherry, Archer Cherry, Jane Mitchell, and Kate Duplantis.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Josephine Duplantis, whose memory he carried with him throughout his life.

Visitation will be held at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas, on Thursday, February 26, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service to begin at 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers please make a donation toTunnels to Towers Foundation (t2t.org

As we remember Tom Duplantis, let us celebrate a life lived fully, a spirit that touched many, and the love that he imparted to his family and friends. He will be dearly missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who knew him.
