Velena Kelone McGuffin 76, of Nederland passed away at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont Texas. Velena was born on October 2, 1936 in Effie Louisiana to Kermit Kelone and Pearl Miller Kelone. She was a resident of the area since 1958 and a nurse at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas. A visitation for family and friends will be held Sunday July 21, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday July 23, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at French Cemetery in Effie Louisiana. Velena was preceded in death by two son-in-laws Bobby Wade and Brian Marcantel. Velena is survived by her husband James "Skip" McGuffin of Nederland, Texas; two daughters Karen Marcantel of Kilgore, Texas and Drusilla Towne of Beaumont, Texas; one son Robert Lynn Towne and wife Joyce of Beaumont, Texas; one sister Donna Bird and husband Charles of Jena, Louisiana; one brother Artris Kelone and wife Mary of Pine Prairie, Louisiana; nine grandchildren Kristi, Cindi, Bobbie Sue, Jeremy, Julie, Jacob, Jessica, Charlie and Morgan and eight great grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her family and her family at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas.
