Velma T. Binagia, 86, of Groves, Texas passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas. Velma was born July 26, 1925 in Port Arthur, Texas to Louis and Frances Tremonte. She was a lifelong area resident and member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Velma retired as a sales clerk from Nacol Jewelry Store after 20 years of service. Velma was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Frances Binagia; three brothers, Peter, Anthony and Paul Tremonte; and one sister, Sr. Mary Peter Tremonte. Survivors include her husband, Paul Joseph Binagia , Sr. of Groves; daughter, Kathy Ponder and husband, Harold of LaBelle; son Paul Joseph Binagia, Jr. and wife Sue of Orange; sister, Jo Ann Tremonte of Port Arthur; nine grandchildren, Mary McBee and husband Matt, Trey Binagia, Judy Taylor and husband Darren, Duane Willis and wife Susan, Michael Willis and wife Felicia, Kim King and husband Brian, Amy Lundy, Emily Petry and husband Corey, and Mark Ponder; sixteen great-grandchildren, Bailey McBee, Brody McBee, Kelci Binagia, Brock Taylor, Jillian Taylor, Clint Willis, Landon Willis, Bret King, Kyler King, Bella King, Kolt King, Peyton Lundy, Mya Lundy, Madison Petry, Drew Petry and one on the way; two great-great grandchildren, Brennan and Katie Holyfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:30 p.m., Friday, February 24, 2012 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Groves with Reverend Monsignor Kenneth Greig officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday evening from 4:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
