Velma B. Langlinais, 94, of Nederland, Texas passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas. She was born on September 4, 1920 in Nunez, Louisiana to the late Ophe Bourque and Laura Guidry Bourque. Velma was a homemaker and a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.
Velma is survived by her daughter, Irene Bearden and husband, Woody of Beaumont; son, John C. Langlinais and wife, Ellen Faye of Nederland; 5 grandchildren, Woody Bearden III, Lori Rawls, Karen Moore, Christopher Bearden, Rhonda Minter; 14 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Myrtle Kilday, Eulen Richard, and Delores Romero; and brother, Dalton Bourque. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dudley Langlinais; sisters, Irene Bourque, Wilda Vincent, Hilda Gary; and brother, Lloyd Bourque.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Nederland on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. with Msgr. Dan Malain celebrant. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland.
