Verna Louise Capps-Brickey, 93, of Nederland, passed away May 17, 2014. She was born August 3, 1920, in Buna, TX to the late Robert Louis Bond and Ethel May Preston Bond.

She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son, David L. Capps and wife DeMorris of Elk Grove, CA; brother Charles Bond of Beaumont; grandchildren Millisa Capps, Pam Capps-Sharp, David L. Capps Jr. and Kevin P. Capps; Seven Great Grandchildren and Four Great Great Grandchildren; and a host of loving neices and nephews. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husbands V.B Capps and B.J. Brickey.

The family will receive visitors Thursday, May 29th, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home, 1605 Avenue H in Nederland. Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 30th at 11:00 a.m. at Melancon's Funeral Home, Rev. Steve Hays officiating. Interment to follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County.
