Vernon was a faithful Member of the White's Park Church of Christ in Anahuac where he was an elder for a few years before his health started to decline, then moving to Groves when he was called home. Vernon was always willing to talk with anyone, anywhere about the Lord so that they too could know and obey the Father on high, receiving an incorruptible crown promised to all Saints. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 17, 2015 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Mark Adams and Don Swanson officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. We want to express our deepest sympathies to the family. Bro. Vernon loved the Lord and lived his life for Christ. My father, Jack Thompson, spoke so highly of him when they worshiped together at White Park and loved him dearly as a brother. You are in our prayers.
