Vernon Archie Wiggins

Vernon Archie Wiggins, 95, of Beaumont, Texas, formerly of Port Arthur, Texas, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2020. He was born in Winnsboro, Louisiana on May 6, 1924 to the late George Allen Wiggins and Mildred Williams Wiggins. Vernon moved to Texas in 1953, and worked for Insurance of Texas for 36 years. He was an avid fisherman and dancer, and was a member of the Select Square Dance Club.
Those left to cherish Vernon’s memory are his son, Terry W. Wiggins of Beaumont; his step-children, Russell Cardwell of Beaumont, Ricki King of Austin, and Reagan Cardwell of Austin; his grandchildren, Shea Wiggins, Leif Wiggins and his wife Amber Wiggins, Vernon Wiggins III, Vincent Wiggins, Marcey Perkins, Wesley Perkins; his four great grandchildren; and his brother, Davis Wiggins of Minden, Louisiana. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Shirley Wiggins; his daughter, Debra Lynn Perkins; his son Vernon Archie Wiggins, Jr.; and his brothers, Ray Wiggins and Huey Wiggins.
There will be a private family service under the direction of Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland.
