Vertie Lee Free Harrington, 75, of Mauriceville, Texas left this world for her Heavenly Home on June 19, 2012. She was born January 1, 1937 in Montgomery, Alabama to the late Claude and Fannie Mae Johnson Free.Vertie is predeceased by her parents husband, Howard Joseph Red Harrington, Sr. infant son, Billy Gene Harrington daughter, Kathy Broussard son J. C. Harrington daughter, Gloria Jean Menard sister, Willie Mae Boggins and brothers, Jess, Junior, Charles, and James Free.Those left to cherish her memories are her children, Wayne M. Harrington Anne of Augusta, Georgia, Howard Joseph Joe Harrington, Jr., Terry of Mauriceville, D.Roy Harrington of Mauriceville, and Paul Edward Harrington of Mauriceville Rozella Harrington of Abbeyville, Louisiana, Judy Ann Bellard Jules of New Iberia, Louisiana, Gaynell Harrington of Abbeyville, Louisiana, Judy Marie Bradford of Port Neches, Patricia Ann Dillon Robert of Raywood, and Cheryl Harrington of Mauriceville soninlaw, Kevin Broussard of Nederland and siblings, Anne Horton of Buna, Ruby Frame of Deweyville, Eugene Free of Merryville, Louisiana, Jimmy Free of Deweyville, and Billy Free of Vidor. Vertie enjoyed the love of 41 grandchildren, 85 greatgrandchildren, and many greatgreat grandchildren. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.She was employed by B.J.s diner in Port Neches, TX for several years and worked long hours to provide for the needs of her family. Vertie enjoyed gardening, visiting with her family, and cooking, canning, and playing games with her brothers, sisters, children, and grandchildren. She was a dear sister to her siblings, a faithful wife to her husband, and a loving mother to her children. Her grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, and greatgreatgrandchildren were her pride and joy and she enjoyed spending time with each and every one. Her devotion to her family, her wonderful home cooking, and unconditional love will be missed by everyone who knew her. She was a truly remarkable woman and a blessing to all who crossed her path.Visitation for family and friends will be held at Melancons Funeral Home in Nederland on Thursday, June 21, 2012 and Friday, June 21, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted by Bro. Lee at Landmark United Pentecostal Church, 2115 Nall St. in Port Neches on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
