Vickie Orta McDaniel

Vickie Lynn McDaniel, 59, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at Gulf Healthcare Center in Port Arthur.

Vickie was born on January 21, 1963, in Port Arthur, Texas to Maria Aurora Ramirez Orta and David Collazo Orta. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1981 and was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Port Arthur. She was a homemaker who loved talking with her family and friends on the phone and enjoyed drinking Coca-Cola. Vickie loved watching her soap operas on TV but mainly, she loved her children, grandchildren and family dearly and they could always come to her for help or advice. She will be missed dearly.

Vickie is preceded in death by her parents, David and Maria Orta and her oldest sister, Virginia Herrera and her older brother Paul Orta.

She is survived by her children, Jared Marcus Orta of Port Arthur, Nathan Wayne McDaniel of Port Arthur and Marisa Lynn McDaniel of Nederland; grandchildren, Bryson McDaniel, Liam McDaniel, Aden Harris, and Addison McDaniel; her brothers and sisters, James Orta of Nederland, Rudy Orta of Nederland, Johnny Orta of Port Arthur, David Orta of Port Arthur and Velma Wappler of Groves; finally, her friend and companion, Darrell Vara of Port Arthur.

Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 1, 2022, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Groves, Texas under the direction of Melancon Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas. Private cremation services will be held at later date.

I kno I didn't see u mom or spend as much time with u as I should of. But there won't be a day that goes by that I won't be thinking about u :disappointed: I'm going to miss u calling me every day to see how my day was or how was work and I'm going to miss u asking about ur grandchildren. I wish we could have spent more time together but I was always busy either with work or with erin and the babies. I'm so sorry :disappointed: we love u :heart: :blue_heart:
