1931 ∼ 2025

Victor L. Kelly, Jr., son of Victor L Kelly and Margaret Addcox Kelly, passed from this earthly life on August 26, 2025.

His wife of sixty-five years, Faye C. Kelly, preceded him in death in 2019.

He is survived by his daughters, Sharon DeLord and her husband, Jeff, Susan Perkins, and Stacy Simmons, grandchildren, Brian DeLord and his wife, Dalhia, Breann Alatorre and her husband, Juan, Becca Leal and her husband, Michael, James Damon Blake, Jared Dabney and his wife, Whitney, Taylor Gay and her husband, Andy, and Chandler Simmons, also, nine great grandchildren.

Vick grew up in the "Golden Years" of Port Arthur, graduating from the grand old Thomas Jefferson High School (never forget the ole' maroon and gold) in 1950 and from Lamar State College in May of 1955. Vick was employed by Gulf Oil Corporation at the Port Arthur Refinery on June 1, 1955, retiring in 1991 with 36 1/2 years of service.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 AM, at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home, 1605 Avenue H, Nederland, Texas, 77627. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Nederland, Texas.

And now, these closing words from Vick prior to passing: "To my survivors, I thank the Lord for giving each of you as a part of my family. We've had many good times together and I hope I've helped you along life's way. I look forward to that time when by the grace of God, through the shed blood of Jesus, we can all be together again in a perfect place called Heaven. Live your remaining days for the cause of Christ, bearing witness of salvation only through him."

To my co-workers at Gulf Oil/Chevron: "I say thanks for the friendship and support throughout all those good and productive years. I feel like we accomplished something worthwhile. My memories of you are vivid."

To my school-mates, friends, associates, and church family: "Thanks for your help along life's way. I remember so many of you in these latter years. Thanks also for making my life richer."

"To all, if I've offended in any way, please forgive."

Vick Kelly was one of the first and one of the most loyal and distinguished graduates of the Industrial Engineering Department at Lamar University. He help me greatly about 25 years ago when I was establishing the Industrial Engineering Department Advisory Council. His leadership and organizational skills were excellent and I'm sure those skills we used in his family life and other endeavors. My condolences to his daughters, extended family, and all his loved ones. We will all miss Vick. Victor Zaloom September 2, 2025

What a life well lived serving Christ and his loved ones, church family, friends, and community! Our parents, Bessie and Burt Helmke, and our family thought highly of Mr. and Mrs. Kelly and their family. I had the privilege of speaking with Vick at our dad’s visitation/funeral and he reminisced fondly of their friendship and efforts working together at Gulf Oil and FBC. Sending my heartfelt sympathy, love, and prayers to Susan, Sharon, Stacy, and their families.

Jerry and I always enjoyed visiting with Vic and Faye. He made banana bread and shared it with us and other folks. He was a gentleman and loved God, was a faithful Christian.
