Victoria "Vickie" Marie Broussard

1919 ∼ 2014

Victoria “Vickie” Broussard, 94, passed away Sunday, May 11, 2014 at the Pine Ridge Health Care in Livingston.

Mrs. Broussard was born in Kaplan, Louisiana to the late Euphemon Mire and Louison Boullion and lived most of her life in the Port Neches area. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches where she served on the Altar Society and was a member of the choir. She also served with the friends of the Port Neches Knights of Columbus.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Thursday, May 15, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches with Rev. Shane Baxter and Rev. Jim Courville officiating with interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A gathering of the family and friends will be from 9 to 10:30 AM Thursday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Broussard was preceded in death by her parents, also her husband, Edward Broussard; her daughter, Denise Kaye Broussard and her sister, Annie Myrtle Cappadona. She is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Ann Snyder and husband, Steve of Austin, and Donna Marie Barras and husband, Gib of Austin; her sons, Charles Broussard and wife, Wanda of Livingston, and Steven Broussard and Helen of Austin; brothers, Charles Emile Mire of San Antonio, and J. D. Mire and wife Pattye of Port Neches; sister, Ella Mae Holland; fourteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren.

I was so fortunate not to have one of those mother-in-laws that guys complain about. Mine was sweet, didn't meddle in our business, and was a wonderful cook to boot. I got pretty good at being around at mealtime when I was dating Cyndi. She always seemed genuinely happy to see me. Like I say, I was fortunate, my mother-in-law was Vickie. Steve Snyder
