Vincent Charles Cuccio, Sr., February 10, 1922 - March 8, 2012. He is preceded in death by his parents, Gaetano Cuccio and Rosina Mangiapane brother, Frank Cuccio and Nick Joseph Cuccio and sisters, Catherine Rosetta and Eva Camello. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Leda Bess Melancon Cuccio. He is also survived by their four children and spouses: Linda and John Duplissey, Mikie and Ray Abshire, Vincent and Jane Cuccio, and James and Terri Cuccio. Additionally, he is survived by 12 grandchildren, 12 greatgrandchildren, and two brothers, Angelo Cuccio and Jimmy Cuccio. He was an extraordinary man, a scholar, a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, proud veteran of the United States Navy, and retired engineer from Texaco. In his last days he said, "I've lived 90 great years, I've been with my wife 67 years, I have 4 children, 12 grandchildren, and 12 greatgrandchildren. I've had a rich life and cannot ask for any more." A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. with a rosary at 6:00 p.m. officiated by Ida Davis with soloist, Bradley Cuccio on Sunday, March 11, 2012 at Melancon's Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 12, 2012 at St. James Catholic Church in Port Arthur, Texas, Father J. C. Coon celebrant. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. Serving as pallbearers are his sons, Vincent and James Cuccio, grandsons, James Duplissey, Gabe and Dean Abshire, Bradley and Josh Cuccio, son-in-law, Ray Abshire, and great-grandsons, Matthew Duplissey and Riley Abshire. The family would like to thank special friends who took care of their dad and mother, Pandora, Chrystal, Lucy, and Lynette.
