Violet L. Engleman

Violet was born to JH Coffey and Georgetta Hughes Coffey on September 29, 1935 in Franklin, PA however she called Groves, TX her home. Her deeply caring personality made everyone around her feel loved and accepted. She was the life of the party, never afraid to share her unfiltered humor.

Violet loved games and the thrill of a good mystery, but most importantly, spending time with her family. She was a devout Christian woman who fearlessly shared her faith with anyone she encountered, fully embracing her mission set before her to bring all those to Christ that she could.

Surrounded by family, our beloved Mother and Mawmaw passed away on July 10, 2024 in Port Arthur, TX. She will be forever cherished and remembered by her children Jerry Tomplait, his wife, Dona and her daughter, Susan Yarbrough; 9 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death and joined in heaven by her Mother and Father, JH & Georgetta Coffey, Husband, Pop Engleman, Brother, George Coffey, Sister, Sarah Coffey Moore, and Sons, Jay Glen Engelman and James Tomplait Jr.

A celebration of life for Friends and Family will be held on Monday, July 15, 2024 at 10am. Service to begin at 11am at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home– 5601 39th St. Groves, TX.
