Virgie Mary Duplantis Cobb Virgie Cobb, 75, was a lifelong resident of the Golden Triangle area. She died Thursday evening on the 31st of October at Cypress Glen East after a long illness. She was born on December 8, 1937 in Port Arthur, Texas and was the daughter of the late Gabaluce Duplantis and Jeanne Manilla (Landry) Duplantis. Virgie worked as one of the top cosmetics consultants at Bluesteins Department Store before becoming a receptionist with Dr. Maraist office and a secretary at Maco Construction. She then went on to own a consignment shop named KED'S Crafts and later became the co-owner of Cobb's Trucking. Not only was she a successful business woman, she was a loving, wonderful and devoted wife, mother and maw-maw. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 4, 2013 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Reverend Richard Turner officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves. A visitation for family and friends will be at the funeral home Sunday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary service to begin at 6:00 p.m. Serving as pallbearers will be Mitchell Cricchio, Gerald Robinson, Erick Tallant, Jr., Bryce Tallant, Jeff Havard, and David Die. Virgie is survived by her husband, Andy B. Cobb of Groves, TX., five children, Kirk Tallant and wife, Cheryl of North Richland Hills, Erick Tallant, Sr. and wife, Cindy of Port Neches, Darla Cobb Socia and husband, Joey of Groves, Andy Cobb, Jr. and wife, Jeanie of Fresno, CA., and Scott Cobb of Fresno, CA., sister, Leatrice (Lee) Seago and husband, William of Clarksville, TN., nine grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Jane Warwick and Genevive Duplantis Lewis, and her brothers, Clifford Duplantis and JC Duplantis. The family would like to extend a personal thank you to Cypress Glen East for taking such good care of our wife, mother and maw-maw.
