W.B. Chandler, 93, of Nederland, passed away Thursday, February 28, 2019 at
St. Luke’s Hospital in Houston. W.B. was born November 28, 1925 in Lake Creek, Texas to the late William Benjamin Chandler and Blanch Olivia Howes Chandler.
He retired from Quantum Chemical with 35 years of service, and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Nederland. He also served his country in the U.S. Army.
W.B. is survived by his daughter, Peggy Day of Austin; his sons Mark Chandler and wife Diana of Nederland, Ben Chandler and wife Veronica also of Nederland; sisters, Lockie Mason of Nacogdoches and Duaine Fonville of Arkansas; five grandchildren, Deanna Day, Briana Chandler, Jordan Chandler, Zachary Chandler and Abbie Lindsey; great grandchildren, Olivia and Emmerson Lindsey.
W.B. Chandler is preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Reed.
A gathering of family and friends will begin Sunday, March 3, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.. Funeral services to begin at 4:00 p.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland with Dr. Jason Burden officiating. A graveside service will be held Monday, March 4, 2019 at Oaklawn Cemetery in Cooper, Texas.
