Walter Joseph Breaux, Jr., 94, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away Monday, April 24, 2017 at Jefferson Nursing and Rehab Center in Beaumont. Walter was born November 4, 1922 in Port Arthur, Texas to Walter Breaux, Sr. and Celita Begnaud Breaux. Walter was a lifelong Port Arthur resident and member of the United Methodist Temple. He retired from Gulf Oil after 42 years of service in the Human Resource Department. Walter served in the U.S. Navy serving on the U.S.S. Cowell from the day it was commissioned till it was de-commissioned, making him a Plank Owner. He earned six medals, eleven stars, and a Presidential Citation during World War II. He was a member of Cosmopolitan Lodge #872, Port Arthur-Mid County Shrine Association, Royal Order of Jesters, PANAC, Edison-Lee Neighborhood Watch, and Manager of the Port Arthur Club after his retirement from the Gulf. Walter was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Breaux; and son-in-law, Paul Trosclair, Jr. Survivors include his daughter, Pam Trosclair of Port Arthur; son, Walter J. "Joe" Breaux, III and his wife Suzanne of College Station; grandchildren, Tiffany Trosclair, Quentin Trosclair, Will Breaux, Wade Breaux and his wife Chelsie, Leslie Springer and her husband Justin; great-grandchildren, McKenzie Trosclair, Eden Springer, Jude Springer, and Braxtyn Breaux. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday evening from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to: United Methodist Temple of Port Arthur, Port Arthur International Seafarers Center or Shriners Hospital.

Walter you will be missed. Mom and dad have been you and Barbara's friends for many years. I so enjoyed working with you at the Port Arthur club. Walter is a wonderful man and will be missed. Say hi to mom and dad in heaven. This world has lost a true gentlemen.

Joe and Pam, I was so sorry to hear about your dad. I met him once and when I told him who my parents were, we had the best visit because he had been their best man when they got married! Precious man. So thankful we had that visit! Condolences to all of you.
