Walter Dale Plumhoff

Walter Dale Plumhoff, born November 2, 1945, in Fort Worth, Texas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 7, 2023.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2023, 10:00 a.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves, Texas. 

Dale was raised in the Presbyterian Church and was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School in 1964 and Stephen F. Austin State University in 1969.

An avid hunter with a deep passion for wildlife and nature, Dale cherished time spent in the woods. He would often reminiscence over a cup of coffee while engaging in thoughtful debates regarding politics and philosophy.

Dale had a love for music and attending concerts brought him great joy. He had an impressive understanding of Civil War history and enjoyed sharing his knowledge with others.

Above all else, Dale valued his family and friends greatly. Spending quality time with them was always one of his top priorities.

In terms of career, Dale made significant contributions to the pharmaceutical industry. He dedicated many years to Baxter Pharmaceuticals, where he retired as Regional Sales Manager.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Frederick Plumhoff and Margaret Elizabeth (Dale) Plumhoff. 

He is survived by his daughter Connie Elizabeth (Plumhoff) Catranis and her husband Dr. Ted Catranis of Mobile, AL; his son Charles Thomas Plumhoff and his wife Elizabeth Danielle Plumhoff of Keller, TX; his four cherished grandchildren Madison Lynn Plumhoff, Madison Abigail York, Elizabeth Bendette Catranis, Coleman Dale Plumhoff; as well as his sister Margaret Elizabeth “Betsy” (Plumhoff) White.
