Wanda Joye Welch

Wanda Joye Welch, 90, of Port Neches, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at her residence in Port Neches surrounded by her family.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 30, 2023, at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.

Visitation will be held prior to service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches.

Joye was born in Natchitoches, Louisiana, on March 18th 1933, to Carl and Ola Durr. She retired from PNG school district where she worked as the Cafeteria Manager at Groves Middle School. She was a longtime member of First Methodist Church of Groves and truly loved watching the Astros as well as high school football. During her free time, she enjoyed cooking for all her family and going fishing at Toledo Bend Lake. She will be deeply missed by all of those who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, O.K. Welch; daughter, Jan Lykins; granddaughter, Gina Welch; and her siblings Eloise, Gerald, and Marcele.

She is survived by her two sons, Steve Welch of Groves, Texas; Dan Welch and wife Demetria of Port Neches, Texas; Five grandchildren, Aaron Welch, Alex Welch, Jake Evans, Phoebe Welch, and Faith Welch; Four great-grandchildren, Max Evans, Milo Evans, Alice Welch, and Piper Welch.
