Wanda J. Wilson, a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother passed away on May 27, 2024, at the age of 80, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont, Texas. Wanda was born on June 8, 1943, in Orange, Texas to Bertha Mae (Franklin) Tarver and Willie Parker Tarver.
Wanda's professional career was marked by her commitment and excellence. She worked at the Texas Department of Human Services in Administration twenty-three years before retiring in 1999. Her hard work and unwavering dedication left a impact on all who had the pleasure of working with her.
In her spare time, Wanda enjoyed pursuing various hobbies such as sewing, reading, and camping at the lake. Her adventurous spirit and creativity shone through in all her endeavors.
She received her education from Cove Elementary, Bridge City High School, and Lamar University where she pursued Secretarial Science. Wanda's thirst for knowledge and growth was evident throughout her life.
Wanda was a beloved member of First Baptist Church in Nederland. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Bertha Mae (Franklin) Tarver and Willie Parker Tarver; her son, Donnie Lynn Wilson; sisters Betty Curl and Yvonne Bornette; and brother Billy Robert Tarver.
She is survived by her devoted husband of sixty-two years, Alfred Wilson of Port Neches, TX; loving daughter, Melody Guidry of Vidor, TX; cherished grandchildren, Brandon Hernandez and Brandi Alvarez; as well as great-grandchildren, Robert Martinez, Gina Martinez, and Alex Alvarez.
A visitation to honor Wanda's life will take place on Saturday, June 1, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m., at First Baptist Church in Nederland; located at 1911 Nederland Avenue in Nederland, Texas.
Wanda's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known her. May she rest in peace knowing that she was loved deeply by all who surrounded her.
