Warren Gerald (Jerry) King, 72 of Groves, TX passed away from this life on April 10, 2015 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont, TX. He was born April 1, 1943 to Warren Johnson and Johanna Fikkers King in Port Arthur, TX. Warren was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Paul, and nephew Jeremy Jackson. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Dolores (Besse) King; brother, Wayne King and wife Wini of Lakewood, Colorado; son, Jason King and wife Rebecca of Evadale; daughter, Anna Marie Ousley and husband Brian of Orangefield; and grandchildren, Paige Ousley of College Station, Jade Ousley of Orangefield, Bree Hawkins and husband Kyle of Nederland, Thomas Shipley and Lane King of Evadale; and great-granddaughter, Alice Hawkins of Nederland. Warren graduated from Port Neches-Groves High School in 1961 with an exceptionally close group of friends. He served in the Coast Guard 1963-1964. After serving in the Coast Guard he attended Port Arthur College, from there he went to work for Burroughs Corp. for 25 years, then Unisys and retired from BancTec. Two years ago Warren renewed his faith in Christ and converted to Catholicism. He was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church in Bridge City, TX. He was an active member of ACTS Community and member of Bridge City Knights of Columbus, Sacred Heart Council #3406. Warren was an avid poker player and spent many enjoyable years playing in Las Vegas and Louisiana Casinos. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan prior to the 1989 season. Later in life he became a huge fan of NASCAR, visiting Talladega and Bristol on multiple occasions. But Warren's true passion was watching his Orangefield "Lady Bobcats". Visitation will be Tuesday, April 14, 2015 from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves, TX. There will be a Cursillo Rosary at 6:00 p.m. Deacon Hazen Kenney will offer a Vigil Service for Warren at 6:30 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 15, 2015 by Reverend Steven Leger at St. Henry Catholic Church in Bridge City, TX. Final Committal and interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, TX. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to MD Anderson, Bridge City Knights of Columbus Sacred Heart Council #3406, or charity of choice.
