Wayne, myself, and Willie Nelson used to run together in high school during our junior year, we'd ride up and down the same streets all the teenagers did, usually making the bowling alley at Gateway our last stop. We'd sell glass milk bottles to the stores, get 50 cents, usually good for 5 gallons of gas in the car. Good times. You have our sympathy Betty Mae. RIP Wayne

How do we tell our best friend goodbye? Wayne and Bette have been our closest friends for over fifty years. We became part of each others families over the years. Our children grew up together, we vacationed together and had such good times. Wayne was a man of few words, but those words were about giving help, love and caring. We are all better for having such a good buddy.

Betty, Angela, and Tim, I am sorry for your loss and praying for your family. I am going to miss Wayne being here in the neighborhood because we all grew up knowing him and we all were like one big family on Hampton Lane. Keep your memories alive in your minds; this is what I will do. Wayne was a man of few words, however, when he spoke, he spoke of many wonderful things; sometimes he told some good jokes.

So sorry Betty. I wish that I knew Wayne's condition sooner, I would have visited him. I thought of him often and didn't but should have brought him with me to Hemphil to see our old buddy Jimmy Tompkins. He would have liked that. He was one of my very best friend during our work years at Neches.
