Wayne Valentine

Wayne D. Valentine, 77, of Hamshire formerly of Nederland passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont.Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Friday, June 24, 2011 at Melancon39s Funeral Home, 1604 Avenue H, Nederland with Father Dan Malain officiating. Interment to follow at Memory Gardens cemetery.A gathering of family and friends will be from 5 to 8 PM Thursday at the funeral home.Mr. Valentine was born April 4, 1934 in Streator, IL. to Fred and Pearl Noble Valentine and lived in the area since 1964. He was owner of Wayne and Mikes Upholstery in Nederland. He was also a long time member of St. Charles Catholic Church in Nederland.Survivors include his son, Mike Valentine of Beaumont daughter, Pam Stokes and husband Walter of Hamshire four grandchildren Karrie Talbott and husband Shane of Edgewood, Kandace Shepard, Christopher Stokes, and Kelli Stokes, all of Hamshire, and 4 great grandchildren. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, wife Joan, and sister Shirley Brunton.
