Wendy Jo Ponder, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2024, surrounded by her family in Port Arthur, Texas. Born on March 13, 1958, in Port Arthur, Wendy was a kind and gentle woman who touched the lives of those around her with her warmth and compassion. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Throughout her life, Wendy was devoted to caring for others. She embraced a fulfilling career as a School Bus Driver for PNGISD, where she had the opportunity to positively influence the lives of many children in her community. Wendy's dedication to the safety and well-being of the students she transported exemplified her selflessness and unwavering commitment to serving others. Wendy also pursued her Cosmetology license and worked for several years as a beautician.

Family was at the heart of Wendy's life. She shared 46 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Billy F. Ponder. They were not just partners in life but also shared an unbreakable bond and served as an inspiration to everyone around them.

Wendy was also survived by her daughters Christina Rascoe and her husband, Brandon of Lumberton, and Billye Ponder of Port Neches; her grandchildren, Olivia and Owen Rascoe; and her sisters, Terry Jackson and Veda Smith.

A visitation service to celebrate Wendy's life will be held Saturday, January 6, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches located at 2001 Nall St., Port Neches, TX 77651. This gathering of loved ones will provide an opportunity to honor Wendy's life while finding solace in the embrace of friends and family.

Wendy Jo Ponder leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will continue to inspire all who knew her. Her memory will be cherished by her family and friends as they remember the incredible woman she was - a pillar of strength, a source of endless love, and a true blessing in their lives.

Wendy will always hold a special place in my heart. She was so much fun to be around. I spent many mornings at her kitchen table having coffee with her. It was fun working with her and laughing our heads off at every day life. Until I see you again, save a place at the table for me my friend.
