I'm a long time friend of your daughter Janice and only got the pleasure of meeting you once or twice but the time at your home was a welcomed one and memorable. The thing that comes to my mind at the moment is if you didn't pick on someone, then you didn't like them. I am glad I had the opportunity to meet you.

I will remember his dry sense of humor, his love for my Aunt Fran and the rest of Texas family. I will smile when I use his Dallas Cowboys coffee mug. A gift I gave him in '03 and that he put in my luggage when I moved back to NY in '04. He always called me the Damn Yankee and I will take pride in that. After all I am a Yankee but with Texas heart. His heart, kind spirit and wisdom will always be with me. I wish I could be there for my Texas family, I miss Ya'll very much. I could use a Big Texas hug from Ya'll. Yesterday (Wednesday) I didn't want go to work but then I heard his voice in my head saying: "Get your Damn Yankee butt to work and do your job. Don't you worry about me, I am taken care of." My condolences to my Texas family, especially Aunt Fran. I miss Ya'll and Love Ya'll. With much love "The Damn Yankee" Jim Dokey
