Wilbert Ben "W.B." Fischer 91, of Groves died Sunday April 15, 2012 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas. "W.B." was born July 24, 1920 in Port Arthur, Texas to Henry Fischer and Mary Domaschk Fischer.He was a lifelong resident of Groves and a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Port Arthur. "W.B." retired from Texaco after 42 years of service as a Lab Technician and was a Veteran of the U.S. Army having served in World War II. "W.B." was preceded in death by his son Craig Fischer and brother Hilton Fischer. Funeral services will be held Wednesday April 18, 2012 at 2:00 pm with Reverend Timothy Dinger officiating at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday April 17, 2012 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home in Groves. "W.B." is survived by his wife Mildred Fischer of Groves, son David Fischer of Beaumont, daughter-in-law Yolanda Fischer of Groves, sister-in-law Ruth Fischer of Port Arthur, three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

To Aunt Mildred and David. I am so sad that i missed getting to Groves to see Fischer before he passed away. We had plans to do so on Memorial Day weekend. Fischer was my all-time favorite uncle. He will be missed so much. love, Margaret Helen
