Wilbert P. "Cheesey" Werner, 94, of Port Neches, Texas died Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at his residence. Cheesey was born January 18, 1919 in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana to Clive Irides Werner and Delphie Guidry Werner. He was a resident of this area for 90 years and a retired Assistant Operator at Gulf Oil Refinery with 33 years of service. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches, Knights of Columbus, and V.F.W. He was also a US Army World War II Veteran. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, April 5, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Visitation for family and friends will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary service to begin at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, April 4, 2013 at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches. He is survived by his wife, Geraldine "Gerry" Werner of Port Neches, Texas; daughters, Pat Rowell of Beaumont, Texas; Linda Smith of Nederland, Texas; sons, Kenneth Werner of Groves, Texas; David Werner and wife Cathy of Fannett, Texas; grandchildren, Robert Barnes and wife Rosie, Dana Turner and husband Tim, Carla Shauberger and husband John, Monica Weeks and husband Tim, Kelly Womack and husband Ricky, Roxanne Washburn and husband Darren, Kimberly West, Shon Werner, Sara Webb and husband Kevin, Sadie Blanchard and husband Donny; 16 great grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Elizabeth Catholic Church Port Neches or Charity of Choice.
