Wilda Vidrine, 86, of Port Arthur passed away Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Oak Grove Nursing Home in Groves. Wilda was born December 11, 1927 in Chataignier, Louisiana to the late Louis and Talbot Manuel and lived in the Port Arthur and Bridge City area since 1950.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, July 20, 2014 at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland with Mr. Wladimir Cardenas officiating with interment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves. A gathering of her family and friends will be from 5 to 8 PM Saturday with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Guidroz, Jeffery Guidroz, Michael Darden, Harry Paul Logan, Paul and Michael Logan. Jonathan Guidroz will serve as Honorary Pallbearer.
Wilda was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Vidrine, grandson, Steven Troy Logan, and her brother, Clyde Manuel. She is survived by three daughters, Carleen Logan and her husband, Harry Paul of Wimberley; Judy Vidrine Darden and her husband, Mike of Houston; and Linda Guidroz and her husband, Jeffery of Port Neches; her brother, Roderick Manuel of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; her nine grandchildren, Paul and Michael Logan, Lori Logan Smith, Sarah, Brandon, and Jonathan Guidroz, Austin, Ethan, and Dylan Darden; her great grandchildren, Justin and Gage Logan, and Lillian and Amelia Smith.
Our mom was a wise, strong, faithful, and nurturing mother and friend. She was completely devoted to her family and we will miss her beautiful spirit. We would like to thank Shirley Joseph and Lisa Williams for their compassion and care of our mom.
