William Morris English, Jr., 67, of Nederland, Texas passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2023, at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont, Texas.
William was born on August 24, 1956 in Port Arthur, Texas to William M. English, Sr. and Gloria Henderson English. He was a retired fire fighter for the City of Nederland for eighteen years and was a member of Fellowship Church in Nederland. William was meant to be a grandfather and poured his time and love into his grandsons and granddaughters. He loved being a fireman and often spoke of his time at NFD and the many memories with the guys at the station. He also enjoyed golfing and dancing with friends and he was known to be the life of the party. People always commented about his smile and how he made you feel welcome while in his presence. He was a true friend to all.
Survivors include his children, Chad Edgar and his wife Heather of Port Neches and Jane Whitmore of Vestavia, Alabama; his sister, Mary Hudson of Nederland; grandchildren, Hannah Pilkington of Corpus Christi, Texas, Rease Edgar of Port Neches, Ryan Pilkington of Vestavia Hills, Alabama, Hayden Edgar of Port Neches, Eli Whitmore of Vestavia Hills, Alabama and Linley Edgar of Port Neches; his niece Shelley Hudson Friesz and her husband Gordon Friesz and nephew, Randy Hudson and his wife Denise McKeever Hudson; great nieces and nephews; numerous cousins and other family members; friends and co-workers and anyone who had the pleasure of meeting William. He was one of a kind and never will be forgotten.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William Morris English, Sr. and Gloria English; brother-in-law, Ronald Hudson.
His son and daughter would like to especially acknowledge and thank “Aunt Mary” and “Aunt Cindy” for the love, friendship and care they gave to their dad throughout the years, but especially this past year.
A gathering of family and friends will take place from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 1, 2023, at Melancon-Levingston Funeral Home in Nederland. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Melancon-Levingston Funeral Home with burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves, Texas.
