Obituary

William "Bill" Allison Wellings of Groves, Texas passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2015. Bill was born December 31, 1941 in Beaumont, Texas. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and member of the Marine Corps League, Detachment 1382 and American Legion Post #7. He was a lifelong area resident and employed by Great Lakes Carbon for 15 years before becoming the owner and operator of Bill's Refrigeration. Survivors include his wife, Olivia Wellings of Groves; daughter, Alta Frazier and husband, David of Beaumont; three brothers, Charles Bigler and wife Yvonne of Bridge City, Jay Bigler of Groves, and Eddie Sample of Groves; grandchildren, Hostin May of Groves and Sage Elmore of Beaumont. A visitation for family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 8, 2015 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves followed by the Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m., with Dr. Joe Worley officiating. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Groves Beautification Committee at 5010 Bellaire Groves, Texas 77619.

I am very sorry for your lose. I met Mr Bill, thru Andy, his neighbor and very close friend. He also became my friend. He was always very friendly and never short for a good laugh. We had many good times at Andy's. I will miss not seeing him when visiting Andy.

On behalf of Groves Police Department and staff, I wish to convey our deepest condolences for your loss. We will never forget Bill for everything he did for us when we moved into our new building. I don't know what we would have done without his help. He will be sorely missed, not only for his knowledge and abilities, but also for the kind of person he was and the way in treated other people. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time.
