William Roy "Bill" Stoudenmier was born on August 19, 1939, to parents Sam & Eloise Stoudenmier, and resided in the Groves. He passed away at his home in Crosby, Texas, on June 22, 2010, after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife Joanne "Jody" Gullberg Stoudenmier of Crosby, Texas; his daughter and son-in-law Susan Renee and Randy Veillon; grandchildren Kayla Renee Veillon and William Burke Veillon, all of Orange, Texas; sister and brother-in-law Karen and Marc McConnell of Woodville, Texas. Bill always had a playful and irreverent outlook towards life, an attitude that he was fortunate enough to retain right up until the time of his death. Please take comfort in knowing that Bill fought his cancer courageously right up until the very end, and that he died peacefully with most of his family with him. His life was a blessing to many, and there are many stories that will be told of his antics as we continue to remember him in the future. After graduating from PN-G High School in 1957, he attended Lamar until starting his family. He returned to school and graduated with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering in 1964. He enjoyed his work as an engineer, and his Mother always insisted that Mechanical Engineers knew more than any others. Ultimately he was a co-founder of Turbomachinery Repair & Support (TRS) Services, L.L.C. in Houston, TX, from which he retired in 2008, after a successful period as its President & CEO when many such companies were not so successful. The company is still successfully operated by his brother-in-law, Roy "Twig" Gullberg, Jr. Through the years Bill enjoyed hunting and being outdoors. His last trophy was a grizzly bear that he shot while hunting in Alaska. He avidly waited for the Cabela's catalog to arrive so that he could "go shopping" again. He said he would rather use the catalogs than go to the store because he could study what he wanted at his leisure. Bill & Jody lived at the Little Oaks Farm where they raised cattle, horses, dogs, etc. They also entertained their many friends and family, and neighbors. It was always difficult to tell which role any of the guests held. He was the same to all of them. He will be missed, but sincerely would want to be remembered for the fun times had by all. Please help his family by remembering and celebrating his life. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 25, 2010 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves, Texas, with burial to follow at Oak Bluff Cemetery in Port Neches, Texas. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday evening from 6:00p.m.-8:00p.m. at the funeral home.
