Wilton Golmon

October 8, 1937 — February 19, 2014

Reverend Wilton Golmon, 76, of Groves, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas. He was born in Smithdale, Mississippi on October, 8, 1937 to Elva and Nora Golmon. Wilton graduated from Morris Hill High School and later attended Copaih Lincoln Community College and Jacksonville Baptist College and Seminary. He retired from North End Baptist Church in Port Arthur. Wilton faithfully ministered the gospel for 57 years with love, compassion and unwavering commitment. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 22, 2014 at First Baptist Church in Groves under the direction of Levingston Funeral Home. Dr. Joe Worley, Reverend Charles Miller, and his grandson, Reverend Travis Cox will be officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A visitation for family and friends will be Friday evening from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Groves. Wilton is survived by his wife of 57 years, Charlotte Golmon, daughter, Susie Cox and husband, Bert of Colmesniel, Tx., four sons, Ronnie "Bubba" Golmon and wife, Melodie of Canyon Lake, Tx., Duane Golmon and wife, Carol of Woodville, Tx., Marlin Golmon and wife, Gwenda of Port Neches, Tx., and Dean Golmon and wife, Theresa of Georgetown, Tx., sister, Sarah Townsend and husband, Charles of Smithdale, Ms., brother, Buford Golman and wife, Dean of Smithdale, Ms., twenty grandchildren and twenty seven great grandchildren.
