Mrs. Wray Ann Baker Miller Wray Ann Baker Miller, 75, of Wilson, Kansas passed away Saturday, March 12, 2011 at her son's home in Port Neches, Texas. She was born on March 22, 1935 in Ellsworth, Kansas to Raymond Baker and Gertrude Coffey Baker. Wray Ann was a graduate of Wilson High School and Fort Hayes State University. She then began her career as a teacher in a one room schoolhouse and taught at many of the surrounding towns. She retired after 38 years of service, but continued to substitute teach up until her illness. She and her husband, of 49 years, Edwin married May 29, 1961 in Halstead, Kansas. Wray Ann was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, where she held the office of treasurer and served on the Board of Directors. She was also a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Daughters of the American Revolution, School Board USD 328, and member and president of Ellsworth County Council on Aging. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wilson, Kansas with Reverend Jim Wagner officiating. Burial will follow in Wilson Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be on Friday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Foster Funeral Home. Wray Ann was preceded in death by her sister, Patsy Nielsen. She is survived by her husband, Edwin Miller of Wilson, Kansas; one son, Dr. Barry Ray Miller and wife, Laura of Port Neches, TX.; brother-in-law, Walter Nielsen; three sister-in-laws; two grandchildren, Jordan Barry Miller and Carli Ann Miller; and numerous nieces and nephews.
