Yvonne Daviet Grimes, 85, of Port Neches, Tx passed away February 13, 2015 at her residence. Mrs. Grimes was born November 17, 1929 in Lockport, La to the late Joseph Daviet and Margaret McGraw Daviet.

Mrs. Grimes taught for over 33 years retiring from Nederland ISD. She was also on the MCT Credit Union Board for over 35 years and Nederland School Board for 9 years.

Mrs. Grimes is survived by her daughters Rebecca Demeter and husband Joe; Lynda Porter and husband Johnny; son Tommy Grimes and wife Pat; grandchildren Timothy Grimes and wife Claudia; Christopher Demeter, Ethan Demeter and wife Anita; Justin Porter, Margaret Erlandson and husband Leonard; great grandchildren Isabela and Liliana Grimes; Teklo and Felix Erlandson; brother Joseph Daviet and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Grimes is preceded in death by her parents, brother Frank Daviet and husband Roy Grimes.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at 2:00 pm at St Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches, Tx. Visitation will be 5 pm till 8 pm with a Rosary at 6:30 pm at Melancon’s Funeral Home. Interment will be held at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches, Tx.
