Zayne Keith Melancon, 63, of Nederland, Texas passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont, Texas. Zayne was born on September 5, 1959 in Port Arthur, Texas to Charles Melancon and Kay Ely Melancon.

Zayne graduated from Texas A&M on May 6, 1983. He was a hard-working man that loved his job. Zayne dedicated many years of his life to the SEP Group working as a Front Line Supervisor. He was also an instructor at the ABC Education Center where he taught many students about scaffolding and scaffolding code. When Zayne was not working, he enjoyed playing a few games of poker with his friends, relaxing in his recliner and watching football or NASCAR. Zayne was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and he will be missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing him.

Those left behind to cherish Zayne’s memory are his loving wife of 15 years, Rhonda Melancon; his mother, Kay Ely Melancon; his daughter, Jayde Melancon and her significant other, Lance Moody; his stepson, Jesse Askew; his stepdaughter, Brooke Gresham and her husband, Josh; his grandchildren, Ava Moody, Madisyn Gresham, Allisyn Gresham, Ellie Gresham, and Micah Askew.

Zayne is preceded in death by his father, Charles Melancon and his brother, Jade “Jaco” Melancon.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Zayne at a later date.
